In the near future around the American Midwest, Cooper, an ex-science engineer and pilot, is tied to his farming land with his daughter Murph and son Tom. As devastating sandstorms ravage Earth's crops, the people of Earth realize their life here is coming to an end as food begins to run out. Eventually stumbling upon a N.A.S.A. base near Cooper's home, he is asked to go on a daring mission with a few other scientists into a wormhole because of Cooper's scientific intellect and ability to pilot aircraft unlike the other crew members. In order to find a new home while Earth decays, Cooper must decide to either stay, or risk never seeing his children again in order to save the human race by finding another habitable planet

Man this movie is truly one of the most emotional films I have ever seen. To imagine a son and daughters lives go by that fast, out of reach, it just tears your heart apart. The genius of this film and the music. My favourite and I've watched it dozens of times. You know it a good movie when: You watch it every time it passes on TV and you enjoy it, as an INCREDIBLE story, one of the bests soundtracks, and after you watch it, you just can't stop thinking, in possibilites You dont cry, dont feel nothing, but at the same time, you feel everithing, just like if this was real, i dont know, im. almost at tears. See it the IMAX. I can't stress that enough. Interstellar is an incredible experience to see the 70mm IMAX film used to it's full potential. The visuals are amazing and the immersive experience is the best I've seen. When the scene cuts to the full frame IMAX the cinematography and vfx leave me hoping to see more movies like this in the future.I have heard bad reviews of the audio mixing and I think that may be depending on where you see it and where you are sitting. Because to me I thought it was amazing. The score by Hans Zimmer is one of his best yet. Of course the directing by Christopher Nolan was another strong point of delivering the experience. The acting was nothing special, not undelivered but I found there were no particular scenes for McConaughey to really stand out in as we all know he has the capability to do so.
This movie is not going to be the same watching it at home. See it at the IMAX and if you can't, see it at your local cinema.

Heart of darkness is a metaphor for a search for the true nature of man in a society that removes us from ourselves. in interstellar the search is literally for Mann who consequently turns out to be equally disappointing and can not live up to the eulogizing made by people who had once known him.
As in both adaptations the answers lie in the journey and not in the destination and that before we critique society we are made aware that society is the one thing that keeps us from our true buried nature that reveals it self in fleeting moments - the animal in us, the naked urges and desires.
Heart of darkness has often been describe by the socialist left as racist, similarly when coop reaches cooper station we can see that it is not a broad section of the community that the leaders of this world have saved. There is no ethnic diversity, only white people are deemed fit to be saved from the disaster of the earth. Possibly the same people who were going to bomb people to solve the world food shortages.
This is not the first adaptation of Conrad's tale - Apocalypse Now did a similar take but this was closer to Conrad's novel; so much so that when i think of kurtz i always see Marlon Brando peeling eggs
lastly, the soundtrack is both foreboding and brilliant.

INTERSTELLAR IS PURE PIECE OF ART AND I THINK NO OTHER MOVIE CAN BEAT THIS. WHENEVER I THOUGHT ABOUT IT, IT ALWAYS TAKES ME TO ANOTHER UNIVERSE OF MYSTERY, THRILL, ADVENTURE AND FEAR. I KNOW MY COMMENT WILL BE LOST IN CROWD OF 46K+ COMMENT BUT STILL AFTER MANY GENERATIONS LATER MAYBE SOMEONE SEE THIS.
